Bonded Seals | Dowty Washers
Bonded seals are static seals that are used to seal bolt heads, nuts and screw and flange connections. They consist of a flat metal ring (steel, stainless steel or aluminum) and elastic rubber on the inside (NBR, HNBR, FKM, EPDM).
Advantages Bonded Seal

- Easy to use, metal/steel ring prevents over-compression
- Low bolt torque in comparison to fully metallic seals
Profiles
PROFILE REGULAR
The most common bonded seal. Bonded seals are primarily used to replace copper joint rings in high pressure applications. The steel ring prevents over compression and extrusion. The elastomeric part allows reliable sealing for both high and low pressure operation. Unlike copper joint rings, bonded seals can be re-used after assembly.
PROFILE SELF CENTERING
The self centering bonded seal profile eliminates sealing offset and allows easy installation. Self centering bonded seals can be pre-assembled.
