NBR O-rings

Nitrile rubber is the most commonly used elastomer for O-Rings and other seals. Also known as Buna N, Nitrile, NBR. NBR O-Rings have a high tensile strength and good resistance to scratches, cracks and pressure deformation. The material and production costs of nitrile rubber are low compared to other elastomers.

The recommended temperature range of nitrile rubber is between -40 and 108 °C. Special low temperature Nitrile rubber types can handle temperatures of -54 °C. Special high temperature Nitrile rubber types can be used up to 135 °C. It is important to know that nitrile rubber is poorly resistant to ozone, sunlight and weather influences. The Nitrile seals must not be stored in the vicinity of ozone-generating electric motors or equipment.

Typical products for nitrile rubber are: O-rings, hoses, gaskets, diaphragms and hydraulic hoses. Due to its oil and fuel resistance, NBR O-rings are commonly used in automotive, marine and oil and gas applications.
