Guide Rings | Wear Rings
The guide ring or wear ring guides a hydraulic cylinder piston and rod and absorbs lateral forces. Metal to metal contact between the moving parts of the cylinder, for instance between the piston and the cylinder or the rod and the cylinder head. The advantages of these non-metallic guide rings (compared with traditional metal guide rings) are, among others, a high bearing load capacity, the elimination of local stress concentrations, wear resistance, a low coefficient of friction and low maintenance costs.
NewDealSeals supplies a wide range of guide rings as an economic alternative for e.g. Slydring® in HiMod®, Orkot® and Turcon® compounds.

Advantages Guide Ring
- The tapes can be supplied either cut to length or by the meter, to be cut according to requirement.
- High load capacity (compressive strength), low wear and reduced friction due to an additive of carbon to the PTFE material.
- No tendency to stick-slip in the case of low sliding speed.
- Available in practical dimensions.
- Simple groove designs.
- Simple piston designs without metallic contact of the sliding surfaces.
- Profile geometry which is exactly suited to work in lubricated air as well as dry and oil-free air.

Profiles Guide Rings

PROFILE G1
For pneumatic applications
G1 and G2 are used for bearings where it is imperative that the system pressure is carried on the seals. They are designed as open bearings with a well defined gap.

PROFILE G2
For hydraulic applications
G1 and G2 are used for bearings where it is imperative that the system pressure is carried on the seals. They are designed as open bearings with a well defined gap.

PROFILE G3
For hydraulic applications
G3 is a closed bearing, which in certain applications is used as a combined seal and bearing.

Back-up Rings
Back-up rings are used for static and dynamic applications in connection with O-rings, to prevent extrusion of the O-ring into the diametrical clearance.

Rotary Seals
Rotary seals are used in applications with oscillating or rotating movements in order to retain liquid lubricants and to prevent the penetration of dirt and water.

Rod Seals
The Rod Seal consists of a single-acting PTFE rod sealing ring and an O-ring. They are combined as a single unit and are appropriate for rods and plungers in hydraulic cylinders.
